After a reprieve from cold winter weather this week...a vigorous two punch winter weather system will return to Wyoming beginning Friday.

The first part of the system will affect the western mountains and valleys Friday...with possible heavy snow by Friday night. Wind speeds will also increase with the approach of this weather system on Friday...with strong winds possible across the eastern foothills of the mountain ranges in addition to the wind corridor between Rock Springs and Casper.

Saturday...snowfall will begin to spread east of the Continental Divide...affecting both the mountains and basins of the area in addition to both the I-80 and I-25 corridors. After a brief lull in the action on Sunday...another storm has the potential to significantly affect Wyoming Monday through Tuesday of next week.

At the moment...snowfall amounts are hard to pin down with these winter systems...so stay tuned for further information about the change in the weather coming this weekend.
