It will be another very cold day across the Cowboy State.  Morning lows started out in the teens and 20s below zero with dangerous wind chills.  Daytime highs will struggle to get above zero, with a few lower teens possible, this afternoon.  The good news is that temperatures will start to moderate starting tomorrow.  It will be a slow process, but as this arctic air mass moves out temperatures will have a chance to warm up a little bit each day Friday through the weekend.  They will still be below average for this time of the year, but they will be warmer than they have been.

Another reason for the somewhat warmer temperatures is that the wind will start to pick up on Friday.  Portions of central and south central Wyoming are under a High Wind Watch Friday.

The weather pattern will continue to be very unstable.  A weather disturbance moving through today will bring redeveloping snow showers to the south.  More moisture moves in on Friday and will bring additional snow to the south and to the west.  Portions of western Wyoming are under a Winter Storm Watch
