Goetz sent an email to Judge Tori Kricken on Wednesday saying she must intervene to protect Nichols' privacy.

Outgoing University of Wyoming President Laurie Nichols will become president of a South Dakota university.

Trustees Chairman Dave True declined to comment on the reason Nichols was not given a new contract.

UW's strategic plan was adopted in July 2017 by the Board of Trustees.

Board President John MacPherson says, "Personnel matters are confidential by state statute."
