One person was killed and another injured when an SUV crashed into a broken down semi near La Grange Tuesday evening, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

Cheyenne police are recommending that the driver involved in a Nov. 5, 2021 crash that left a McCormick Junior High School student dead be charged.

39-year-old Carrie Rogers of Casper was the driver of the SUV that ran off the road just down from the Lookout on the mountain.

Casper police continue to investigate the crash, and have not released any new details.

If convicted on the firearms charges, the defendants face 85 years to life imprisonment.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating traveling at a speed too fast for the highway conditions and passing in a no passing zone as the contributing factors in this crash.
