The Casper City Council agreed to adopt a new policy that would require people who want to enter council meetings to be screened by a metal detector before being allowed to enter the council chambers.

The City of Casper has announced that it has installed metal detectors outside of both the Council Chambers in City Hall and the Municipal Court inside of the Hall of Justice.

Laird says the devices cost about $6,000 each.

Snoop Dogg is set to perform two days later, on Dec. 14.
