The housing market has grown for home sellers.

The Commerce Department said Wednesday that new homes sold at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 764,000 last month.

For all of 2019, 5.34 million homes were sold, matching the 2018 level.

Pending sales declined 2% over the past year.

The real estate market was generally considered healthy when the supply is closer to 6 months.

Still, a split in the market has emerged, thanks partly to the Trump administration's tax cut law.

However, February's sales bust caused the months' supply of homes on the market to tumble to 3.5 months from 4.4 months in September.
