It started as a way to pull a town out of hard economic times. Over a century later, Cheyenne Frontier Days is still going strong — and still drawing crowds.

On a new list of top capital cities, Cheyenne is #22 on the list. Frontier Days, museums and culture help secure the ranking.

Cheyenne Frontier Days announced on Wednesday that they are adopting and implementing a 'Clear Bag Policy' for the event that runs from July 23-August 1, 2021.

Frontier Days is an outdoor rodeo and western festival in July that draws about 200,000 people each year.

Hirsig says event leaders will anticipate technological advancements in entertainment and competitive sports without isolating traditional fans.

Director of the Youth Volunteer Program George Geyer says he and his coordinators first began seeking applicants to the program in January.
