Breaking the Silence

In its 18 years of existence in Natrona County, the 'Breaking the Silence' walk has offered survivors of suicide an opportunity to remember their loved ones, to honor them, and to maybe, just maybe, offer them some semblance of peace.

The 'Breaking the Silence' Walk, now entering its 18th year, will be held in Casper on Saturday, September 18 at Crossroads Park.

As of August, 15 people in Natrona County died by suicide, according to the Natrona County Coroner's Office.

Suicide is a leading cause of preventable death in Wyoming impacting all ages, all backgrounds, and all racial and ethnic groups.

Suicide affects all ages, all backgrounds, all racial and ethnic groups, all across Wyoming.

According to the Natrona County Coroner's website, 12 people in the county have died by suicide through August.

Suicide prevention week winds up with a suicide  awareness walk, Breaking The Silence, along the Platte River Parkway in Casper Saturday. The event starts at Crossroads Park at 4:00. Walk as far as you want to. Up to the Casper Events Center or back the other way...
