A monthly survey of rural bankers in parts of 10 Plains and Western states suggests the regional economy is growing.

The bankers say farmers are borrowing more money because their costs are increasing at the same time that they are bringing in less income.

A new survey says farmland prices are expected to continue their decline in parts of 10 Plains and Western states.

Bankers from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming were surveyed.
