State Board of Education Meets in Lander Next Week
The State Board of Education will meet in Lander Monday and Tuesday. On the Agenda District Assessment Systems, the strategic direction of the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE), and proposed standards in Science and three other content areas.
The State Board of Education will hold a work session on Nov. 4th from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. During that time, the Board of Education will examine district assessment systems, the process for defining a Wyoming graduate, the strategic direction of the Board and other legislative priorities. The Board will also receive remarks from WDE Director, Richard Crandall.
On Nov. 5th, the State Board of Education will convene a meeting of the State Board of Vocational Education at 8 a.m. The State Board of Education’s regular meeting will follow and is expected to run from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Best Western Inn of Lander at 260 Grandview Drive.
At that point, the Board will receive information and updates on the state system of support, Wyoming state content standards, Chapter 10 rules and form an officer nominating committee. Additionally, the Board will visit schools in the Lander area.
