Federal agents at the doors of Sidelines Sports Bar in Casper early Friday ignited a firestorm of speculation.

But bar owner, Sonny Pilcher, describes the visit from the IRS as a confusion over sales tax on cover charge.

"I've been at this for twenty-five years and I had never paid sales tax on door cover charge. So they came and they investigated that and then while they were here they wanted to make sure that the door cover-charge money actually had income tax filed against it."

He says the federal agents who visited him checked his books and found he had made the appropriate corrections and confirmed the income was claimed as required.

Pilcher says he doesn't expect they'll be returning.

"They got here at about 8 oclock this morning and they left at 12:28 this afternoon and they seemed to be satisfied with what they were looking for."
