IRVING, Texas – Pre-seeds for this weekend's Big 12 Wrestling Championships hosted at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., have been released, announced by the conference Monday. Two Cowboy grapplers earned top-eight pre-seeds for the tournament.

True Freshman and No. 18 ranked Jore Volk will enter his first Big 12 Championship tournament with the No. 2 pre-seed at 125 pounds with No. 5 ranked Killian Cardinale (WVU) being the only competitor seeded ahead of him. Volk is currently 21-7 on the season and holds wins over Noah Surtin (MIZZ) and Stevo Poulin (UNC) who are pre-seeded third and fourth respectively.

The second Cowboy to earn a pre-seed is Jacob Wright who is pre-seeded sixth at 157 pounds and is currently ranked as high as 14th in the country. Wright enters the Big 12 Championships with a 15-7 record on the season along with 99 career wins. Wright will be looking to qualify for his fourth straight NCAA tournament following a career best third place finish at last year’s Big 12 Championships.

Missouri checks in as the only team to have all 10 athletes earn a pre-seed and is the only team with two athletes pre-seeded No. 1. Both Oklahoma State and West Virginia enter the weekend with nine athletes pre-seeded.

The Big 12 Championship will kick off on Saturday with the first session of wrestling set to begin at 10 a.m. MT. The finals are set for Sunday at 7 p.m. MT.
