A stretch of Wyoming 130 over the Snowy Range in southeast Wyoming is now closed for the winter.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation says limited visibility and snowfall this week prompted the agency to shut the road down on Thursday, November 12th.

The highway runs between Laramie and Saratoga.

Only the portion over the highest areas of Snowy Range is closed (mile posts 35 to 48).

Wyoming State Highway 70 over Battle Pass in the Sierra Madre Mountains remains open, although it typically closes soon after Wyoming 130 is closed.

A 22 mile stretch of U.S. Highway 14A west of Burgess Junction normally closes in late November.

U.S. Highway 212 over Beartooth Pass in northwest Wyoming closed earlier this fall.
