Taxes can be complex and perplexing for many and just as many folks don't have money to pay a tax preparer.

For those there's something called VITA sites-Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites.  These are not websites, but locations, and there are many across Wyoming, where you can walk in and get help.

Economics Expert, Dr Joann Bankston, says the best thing about the sites is that they're free.

"We suggest if there is one in a person's community that they use the VITA sites, because they are trained and prepared to help people get their taxes prepared."

Bankston says when you go, be sure and bring along, a copy of last year's return, relevant social security numbers, your W2s and if necessary a 1099 for other income.

There are three sites in  Casper and  more in other communities.
