GEARHART HIMSELF APOLOGIZED FOR THE HURT HE CAUSED HIS FRIENDS, FAMILY AND THE VICTIM, AND HOW HE WANTS TO START OVER.

FORGEY THEN HANDED DOWN THE LENGTHY PRISON TERM AND ORDERED GEARHART TO PAY $9,000 IN RESTITUTION.

THE CASE BEGAN IN SEPTEMBER WHEN THE VICTIM TOLD SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES THAT GEARHART HAD SEXUALLY ABUSED HER AT HIS HOME.
