Wyoming may have never experienced a hurricane, but the people of the Cowboy State will always step up when someone is in need.

Eighteen disaster response volunteers from Colorado and Wyoming are now down south providing help to victims of Hurricane Isaias. Community organizations and emergency responders from Wyoming have mobilized and are already down there. They could use some backup for the work they are now doing.

They knew what was coming and prepared their response in advance.

The American Red Cross of Wyoming and Colorado were loaded, ready, and deployed as soon as the storm began making landfall. The team is providing emergency logistics, open shelters, and distributing critical food and emergency supplies.

Would you like to help?

Below is a short list of what you can do no matter if you want to go down there or if you would like to help from home.

Financial Donations: You can donate directly to the disaster response through the American Red Cross to help fund shelters, meals, and relief supplies.

Volunteer: Local chapters routinely train residents to join national disaster deployments. You can find more info or sign up via the American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming Facebook Page.

Ask at your local church to see if they have set up a program or if they know of one that is providing aid.

While there are groups collecting food, water, and sanitary items, many relief organizations simply ask for cash. That is because they already know what they need and where to get it, so it is much easier for them to just take cash as help.
