Not Sure If Beartooth Will Open In Time For July 4th
While most of Wyoming is experiencing dry but seasonably warm weather for the end of June and the beginning of July, there are a few exceptions. Mostly up in the northwest corner of the state.
WYDOT posted the following on their Facebook page:
Beartooth Pass (U.S. Highway 212) remains closed between Cooke City and the Wyoming/Montana state line. Lots of drifting following the weekend snow and wind.
The pictures, which you can see below, show enough snow to shut down the pass, at least for a few days.

Checking the WYDOT 511, an interactive map that shows road conditions, we can see that they have redlined Beartooth Pass, meaning it is closed, for now.

ClosedRoad closed due to winter conditions. As of June 30 at 05:42 p.m., the estimated opening time is unknown. Parking on the roadway is prohibited and delays opening the road. (WYDOT).

The weather forecast for Yellowstone and Beartooth Pass shows temperatures in the low 60s for July 4th. There will be some leftover snow on the ground.
As for Beartooth being open on July 4th...
Beartooth Pass (U.S. 212) is currently closed at the Montana/Wyoming state line due to extreme travel conditions and heavy unseasonal snow. Crews are actively working to clear the highway, but no reopening time has been announced.
There is an old saying that if you don't like Wyoming's weather, wait five minutes. I'll add to that, or drive five miles.
