Landon Walker from Kelly Walsh is used to winning triple jump events in track and field and repeated as the 4A State Champion over the weekend in Casper. In 2023 as a sophomore, Walker went 45-9 to win the gold medal at the State Outdoor Meet and this season, he went 47-1 to win it all.

Earlier this season at a meet in Sheridan, Walker produced a triple jump of 49-1 which exceeded the existing 4A and overall state record in the event set by Laramie's Stephen Michel back in 2008. That was a tremendous effort but state records can only be broken at the state meet. Nevertheless, Walker is one of the finest jumpers in Wyoming and also won the 4A long jump state championship this season going 22-11.25.

We caught up with Walker after the triple jump and while he still finished 1st, he wanted more distance
