The State 2A Basketball Tournament has 2 days' worth of action in the books with the championship games set for Saturday at the Ford Center. In the 2A boys semi-finals. Wyoming Indian advanced to the final with a 55-41 win over Tongue River. Darwin Gambler threw in 15 for the Chiefs who will be looking for their first state title since 2020. They will take on the Lusk Tigers who were making their first appearance at the State Tournament since 2015. Lusk steamrolled Wright 79-58 in the other semi-final on Friday night and the last time the Tigers won a State Championship was back in 2008.

In the 2A boys consolation round on Friday, Big Piney stayed alive with a 51-49 win over Pine Bluffs and Greybull downed Kemmerer in double overtime 68-60.

On the girl's side, Tongue River defeated Pine Bluffs in the 2A semi-final round 41-32 thanks to 14 points from Paxten Aksamit. The Eagles will be looking for their first state title since 2014 and they'll play Lingle-Fort Laramie for all the marbles on Saturday. The Doggers will be making their 2nd straight appearance in the 2A title game as they got by Wyoming Indian 68-51. LFL was led by Jordynn Speckner and Skyla Wunder with 17 each and their last State Championship was in 2014.

In the girl's consolation round, Kemmerer beat Rocky Mountain 46-26 and Wind River defeated defending champion Burns 54-48. Take a look at our large batch of photos from the 8 games played at the Ford Center on Friday. Look for someone you know and enjoy!
