The State Indoor Track Meet wrapped up on Saturday in Gillette and there were more than a few outstanding individual performances. In 3A, Star Valley's Valerie Jirak won 4 events. Those were the 55-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the 400-meter dash, and the long jump. She set four class records in those events. For the boys, Lander's Reed McFadden captured victories in the 55-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, and 400-meter dash. He added a third-place finish in the pole vault. In 4A, Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East won 3 events, the 55, the 200, and the long jump. Morris set all-class state records in the 200 meters at 25.11 seconds and in the long jump at 19-6.50. Her teammate, Maggie Madsen also won 3 events. She crossed the finish line first in the 800-meter run, 1600 and the 3200. She is just a freshman by the way. For the boys, Kaiden Lee of Natrona also won 3 events, the high jump, the long jump, and the triple jump.
