On the first day of the Wyoming American Legion Baseball 'AA' State Tournament in Casper, all the higher seeds won their first-round game. There was one close game and three others decided by seven runs or more at Mike Lansing Field.

The first game was the closest on day one, as Sheridan fought past Laramie, 3-1. The Cheyenne Sixers beat Rock Springs 14-4 in game two but had to rally to win. Cheyenne trailed 4-2 after the top of the second inning. Gillette got past the Cheyenne Hawks, 9-2. The nightcap saw the host Casper Oilers pull away from Jackson Giants, 12-2.
