Two Wyoming Tow Companies Star In An Awesome TV Show
When I find a show I enjoy, it's hard to stop watching it until it's over. That happened when I was searching through and saw Rocky Mountain Wreckers. The show is commissioned by the Weather Channel and produced by Great Pacific Media, and it's fantastic.
The show is based on heavy-duty tow truck companies in the Rocky Mountains. That alone was enough to catch my attention, but then I saw that some of the tow trucks were from Wyoming, and that caught my attention.
Winters in the Rocky Mountains are rough, and with all of the traffic traveling through on highways like I-80 across Wyoming, I-70 in Colorado, and I-15 in Utah, the tow companies are busy.
When driving and everything goes smoothly, you don't think about how vital wrecker services are to the highways, especially when you add big rig traffic and unpredictable weather.
Rocky Mountain Wreckers follows companies in Denver, around Salt Lake City, and from Rawlins to Cheyenne along I-80 and beyond in Wyoming. The teams jump into action on a bad day for the drivers, and they work many hours to clean up tractor-trailers that have been in accidents, stall out, or can't quite make it up huge mountain inclines when the weather is terrible.
The size and number of the trucks they use are impressive. It is wild to be able to lift enormous trucks and trailers and reposition them to get the mess cleaned up.
The Wyoming-based companies are Big Al's Towing & Recovery in Cheyenne and Stauffer's Towing, which has shops in multiple towns along I-80 in Southern Wyoming and Salt Lake City, also part of the show. Colorado has two companies, Rocky Mountain Recovery and Reliable Towing.
Rocky Mountain Wreckers airs on CTV in Canada on Tuesday nights
