Stuckenhoff Shooting Complex Shuts Down Six Days For Cleanup

If you were planning to head out to Stuckenhoff's Shooting Complex this week, you'll have to wait until at least Thursday. The range will be closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (August 17, 18, and 19), and again next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (August 24, 25, and 26).

The range isn't closed only to the public or only to one type of shooting; all shooting operations are closed. The closure is so the city can clean up trash that has collected on the east side of the range from the City Landfill, which is right next to the range. City workers will be on-site all day on each of the above dates.

The fence that's being cleaned up is on the backside of the berm at the end of the range, and safety is always the number one thing at Stuckenhoff's. It's easier to close for a couple of days early in the week to ensure the safety of all crew members.

If you haven't been keeping up on what's been happening this year at the range, you've missed out on a lot of action. Thanks to the annual fundraising efforts, volunteers have been upgrading facilities to improve, update, and add new features for shooters. They've also hosted National Competitions.

With rifle seasons just around the corner, if you're looking for a quality facility to sight in your new rifle or scope, or if you've recently purchased a suppressor and want to get some target practice in before the season, I would recommend Stuckenhoff's.
