Could You Be The Next Pistol Pete Mascot For UW-Casper?
There comes a time in life when the perfect gig opens for you. It could be a special job, maybe a role in a play, tv show, or movie, or it could be playing the role of a Wyoming icon. If your dream has always been to bring the University of Wyoming's Pistol Pete to life, it's your time.
Pistol Pete has been a staple at UW games, events, and community functions since 1970, when he began representing the Cowboys and Cowgirls as one of the school mascots.
The role of Pistol Pete has been opened up to someone to play the part and wear the brand-new costume for UW-Casper. It seems like a pretty good opportunity for someone to get their foot in the door and make some pretty decent money, too.
Job Description:
- Represent UW Casper at events as Pistol Pete
- Bring energy, school spirit, and Cowboy pride.
- Attend one UW game for observational training.
Pay & Perks:
- $50 per hour when you're wearing the mascot uniform.
- Paid training.
- Flexible, event-based schedule.
Skills needed:
- You'll need to be high-energy.
- Bleed Gold and Brown and have school spirit.
- Be comfortable performing and interacting with large crowds.
- Have some Pistol Pete moves and show them off while wearing the costume.
I don't know what's stopping you. If you're ready to carry on the tradition that many UW alumni have done in the past, you should reach out to Tim Hammer at thammer2@uwyo.edu to apply for this coveted position.
