Excitement is building for the 2026 MHS Indian Relay Races- Battle for the Rockies at the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo grounds September 19-20.

Four horses. Three exchanges. One fearless rider.

Experience the speed, skill, tradition, and absolute adrenaline of Indian Relay Racing as elite teams from across the United States and Canada come to Casper to Battle for the Rockies.

The weekend will be full of rich traditions and vibrant Native American culture, with authentic dancing, drumming, and music; talented Native artisans; traditional foods; and generations of horsemanship and heritage.

The Indian Relay Races have been around for hundreds of years, and Casper has a long history with the sport, but this year's Mandan Hidatsa Arikara Indian Horse Relay is a new event for Central Wyoming. Last year, the Horse Indian Relay Championship moved to Cheyenne, and Casper has been looking for a way to fill the gap. Luckily, with the new MHA event, fans can continue their tradition of cheering on their favorite relay teams in Casper.

As we're getting closer to September, everyone is getting pumped. Especially the third-party ticket resellers. A post on the Central Wyoming Fair and PRCA Rodeo Facebook page warns of potential ticket scams.

We are seeing third-party ticket resellers and potential scam listings advertising tickets to our events. These sites may charge inflated prices and additional fees, and tickets purchased through an unauthorized seller may not be valid.

If you want to ensure that your tickets are legit and valid, you should only buy them through Central Wyoming Fair.com

Country Songs About Horses

You can't have country music and not sing about the country lifestyle. That includes horses.

Horses are an emblem of the country way and they are often used as a metaphor for grit, strength, beauty and freedom. These are all common themes in the genre so it's no surprise artists lean on them for lyrical imagery.

Here are the best country songs about horses.
