Here Is The Proof That Wyoming Loves Firearms
Wyoming comes in at #6 in the country on the number of registered guns per 1,000 residents list. It's estimated that there are about 37.31 guns for every 1,000 residents in Wyoming and a total of 137,346 total registered guns.
The thing is, Wyoming is not a state that requires a firearm to be registered. SO, those numbers may be off a little bit.
Actually, they are more than likely off a lot.
Firearms are a big part of Wyoming's 'Cowboy State' identity and there's a popular saying in Wyoming
There's no such thing as having too many guns, there's always room for one more.
If you were to ask a Wyomingite which of their guns is their favorite, they'd give you a dirty look. Answering that question would be tougher than asking which kid was their favorite.
Can you really choose?
We all know that owning a firearm comes with great responsibility. Knowing the proper ways to handle, care for, use and store your firearm are all very important things to know. It's also a good idea to know exactly how many guns you have.
As a matter of fact, there are two places in Wyoming that can tell you exactly how many guns they have.
The Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody and the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois have an extremely accurate count.
In Cody, you need to set aside lots of time to explore the over 4,000 guns on display with over 7,000 in their collection. The Cody Firearms Museum has over 10,000 pieces, firearms and other artifacts included.
In Dubois, there are over 200 guns in the 'Unknown Soldiers Weapons Vault' and hundreds more firearms/weapons in the displays all over the 160,000 sq. ft. museum.
If you haven't had the pleasure of checking out either of these incredible museums, here's just a taste of what you can see, learn and discover.
