Witness A Wild Wyoming Showdown Between Bison And Grizzly
We've all seen the video from Yellowstone where a grizzly and a bison are battling to the death, and the bison doesn't make it. The first time I saw that, it was a bit sad, and I felt that the bison was outmatched.

That isn't always the outcome. In that first video, you can tell that there is something wrong with the bison, likely the weak link of the herd. Even though there was still fight left, there just wasn't enough to beat the grizzly.
When you're viewing wild animals like the bison or grizzly, which should be from afar and nowhere close, you're not going to see the same outcome every time. Likely, the outcome won't be a fight to the death. The grizzly bear is tough, but it's also smart enough to know that a full-grown, healthy bison isn't going to be an easy battle.
For reference, a full-grown grizzly has ferocious teeth, claws, and a fierce attitude. They typically range from 300 to 800 pounds (depending on their gender) and are pretty fast, too.
The American Bison is between 900 and 2,000 pounds, has a massive, strong head, and also has a fierce attitude.
With those factors alone, when they come together in a battle, it's going to be a huge clash of the titans.
If you've been to Yellowstone and witnessed the bison's "you're in my house, and I'm not worried about you" attitude, you know that when you see a bison defending their territory, it's not something you want to be in the middle of.
This video, captured in Yellowstone, shows a bison earning the grizzly bear's much-deserved respect. It's pretty incredible how big and bad these beasts are.
