The team has now announced its 2026 summer baseball schedule.
The Spuds are back in action on the road beginning May 22, the start of Memorial Day Weekend, against the Oahe Zap. The regular season will continue until July 25, with the first round of the playoffs beginning on July 27.
Spuds owner Kristi Hack is excited for the season to begin. So excited she has it down to the day.
One hundred and twenty-seven days from today is opening day.
Taking a look at the schedule, the first thing you'll notice is a few familiar opponents. For instance, their fellow Independence League teams, Spearfish Sasquatch (Spearfish, SD) and Oahe Zap (Pierre, SD), with which the Spuds will play the most through the summer.

This year, instead of traveling to Nebraska to play the Fremonth Moo, Nebraska Prospects, Plainsmen, or the Hastings Sodbusters, the schedule includes four unaffiliated travel teams. The Spuds will add a couple more games with Bison Baseball out of Pierre, SD, and add the Capital City Aviators out of Cheyenne, the Fort Collins Foxes, and the Satooth Sockeyes from Caldwell, ID to the schedule.
The Spuds, Zap, and Sasquatch will playthe majority of their 48 regular-season games, with the other four teams filling in the dates in between. According to the Independence League Baseball Association, it is currently recruiting additional teams for future league expansion.
