Wyoming Whiskey Launches Bourbon Inspired By Buffalo Bill Cody
Wyoming's first legal distillery, Wyoming Whiskey, is tipping its hat to one of the state's most legendary and influential heroes with a new exclusive limited-edition six-year-old bourbon.
The new release is called "Buffalo Bill Cody" and honors the legacy of the man who has had a profound impact on Wyoming and the world for over a century. He was a soldier, frontiersman, entertainer, and, thankfully, a developer.
From his early days as a Pony Express rider and Union soldier to earning the Medal of Honor and founding the town of Cody, Wyoming, his life was a true epic of the American West. At the height of his fame, Buffalo Bill was one of the most recognized Americans worldwide, bringing the spirit of the frontier to global stages through his iconic Wild West show. As sharpshooter Annie Oakley once said, “He was the simplest of men, as comfortable with cowboys as he was with kings.”
Wyoming Whiskey's master blender, Brendan Cook, says:
When creating Buffalo Bill Cody, we wanted a product that stood out from the rest of our portfolio and other Wyoming Only releases but stayed true to the Wyoming Whiskey pillars of flavor: caramel, orange, vanilla, dark dried fruits, and spice. We wanted to lean into the Buffalo Bill name and create a liquid that we believe Bill would have enjoyed himself as he made his way across the American West. It features notes of leather and tobacco, with the comforting sweetness we expect from Wyoming Whiskey
