Celebrate 250 Years Of Freedom With Great Events Around Casper
As we approach the celebration of our nation's Independence, we're all beginning to make plans for how we will mark the 250th Anniversary. There's one thing for sure: all of Natrona County will be full of festivities.
There are events in Casper, Mills, Bar Nunn, Evansville, and at Independence Rock.
- You can start the day at the 16th Annual CWFR Downtown Casper Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival.
- Head to Independence Rock for Reenactments and Pioneer History.
- A parking lot party will be held at the Oregon Trail Bar and Lounge in Mills
- A pancake breakfast and the 4th of July Parade in Bar Nunn
- The Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo will be in full swing, featuring events like the 307 Showdown Demo Derby.
- The Ford Wyoming Center will be rocking beginning at 4 p.m. for the Independence Day 250th Celebration. With live music, family fun, food trucks, vendors, and adult beverages. Admission is free.
- Casper Spuds Baseball will be in action with their annual 4th of July game and festivities.
- All classes of cars will be racing at Casper Speedway
To cap the busy day off, the community fireworks show will be the highlight of the day. You'll be able to see the fireworks from many locations around the area, but some of the best seats can be found on the grounds of the Ford Wyoming Center, Mike Lansing Field, or from the stands of Casper Speedway.
You'll also be able to tune into any of the six Townsquare Media - Casper radio stations to listen to the soundtrack for the 250th Celebration Fireworks on your radio.

Besides being a fun fact to impress your friends during the finale, knowing what makes fireworks work is a reminder of just how intertwined our daily lives are with Earth’s natural resources. Some of these minerals are considered critical commodities, meaning they’re vital to modern life and can be difficult to source.
So the next time you see a shimmering white sparkle or a deep red bloom over the Mohawk River, you’ll know: there's real science, and some pretty rare elements behind all that beauty.
It all comes down to chemistry. When fireworks are launched, metallic compounds, also called mineral elements, are heated to really hot temperatures. And as they burn, they emit specific colors of light.
The more complex the mix, the more dazzling the display.
