Four Cowboys Remain Ranked in Latest Coaches’ Poll

LARAMIE -- The NCAA announced its conference allocations, third Coaches’ Poll and second RPI on Thursday.
The University of Wyoming had four individuals ranked and learned how many automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament the Big 12 Conference will have at each respective weight.
Jore Volk (125) boasted the highest rank of any Cowboy. He checked in at No. 5 in the RPI and No. 13 in the Coaches’ Poll. Volk stands at 19-6 with seven of those victories coming against ranked foes.
Joey Novak (197) was No. 13 in the RPI and No. 21 in the Coaches’ Poll. He’s 18-10 and one-third of those wins are against ranked guys.
Gabe Willochell (149) was ranked No. 21 in the RPI and No. 26 in the Coaches’ Poll. He’s 16-8 and owns one ranked win.
Cole Brooks (141) was No. 30 in the Coaches’ Poll. He’s 13-5 and lays claim to one win over a ranked grappler.
The Big 12 had the second-most allocations, with 53, of any conference only behind the Big 10, which had 85. Eight of the 10 weight classes in the Big 12 received six automatic bids while 141, 184 and HWT received five.
The Big 12 Championships commence next weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They span Saturday and Sunday inside the BOK Center.
