A federal Taxpayer Advocacy Panel is looking for volunteers. Karen Connelly, Internal Revenue Service spokesperson, says in Wyoming, they're currently looking for members who could serve as alternates.

"They need to be civic minded volunteers, obviously, and what the panel does is it listens to issues tax payers have that, maybe, could be worked out, things to make the agency, the IRS, improve its service."

Connelly says, volunteers must be U.S. citizens, be current with their federal tax obligations and be able to pass an FBI criminal background check. It'a a three-year term of about 300 to 500 hours a year.
