City of Casper officials will officially unveil a new master plan for Hogadon Ski Area next week.

The event scheduled for next Wednesday culminates a five month planning process guided by both a steering committee and public feedback.

Alan Kieper, the special facilities manager for the city of Casper’s leisure services department, says the master plan covers several enhancements to Hogadon.

“It overviews the facilities that are there and the need for their replacement,” Kieper said. “It also overviews some equipment needs, some staffing needs and some area changes relative to lifts and new slope areas that could develop.”

Kieper says the final master plan will be presented to Casper City Council for approval later this month.

“The cost is kind of a range between $2 million and $8 million in the first phase of improvements,” Kieper said. “It involves starting to try to approach this in a matter where it doesn’t all hit you all at once and you get overwhelmed.”

The master plan will be revealed at a special open house on July 10. The open house is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Casper City Hall.
