An Evansville man who was severely abused as a child was sentenced to between 25 and 40 years in prison for sexually assaulting two girls -- including using a knife handle -- earlier this year.

Jamez Hendrickson, 21, heard the sentence handed down by Natrona County District Court Judge Thomas Sullins while family members looked on.

Hendrickson appeared in an orange jail jumpsuit with his head shaven, and a blank look when he shook his head "no" when Sullins asked if he had anything to say.

He was arrested in May after two victims told police investigators he had used the handle of a bread knife to penetrate them in April. One victim was four years old, according to an affidavit filed with Natrona County Circuit Court.

When interviewed, Hendrickson admitted to assaulting other victims and used a knife on a least one of them, according to the affidavit. when asked why, he responded, "That's my thing.'"
