Eastern Shoshone Vote In Delayed Primary Election
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Eastern Shoshone tribal members have cast ballots in a delayed primary election.
Members voted for business council and entertainment committee members in Fort Washakie (WASH'-ah-kee) and Crowheart in Tuesday's primary. The results weren't immediately known.
The Associated Press reported that the election was originally scheduled for October but was delayed because of a controversy over term limits and the replacement of election judges.
There was only one candidate for the entertainment committee but 17 people ran for seats on the business council.
The general election will be held Dec. 21.
