Drunk Man Who Damaged Gillette Downtown Sentenced to Prison
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A South Dakota man will serve eight to 10 years in prison for causing damage to downtown improvements in Gillette.
Bobby Rice, 34, of Belle Fourche, South Dakota was sentenced Aug 24.
A judge recommended Rice be placed in the prison system's Intensive Treatment Program.
Rice pleaded guilty in 2015 to a charge for felony destruction of property. A judge had suspended Rice's sentencing twice prior to his second probation violation.
At his sentencing, Rice apologized to the state for the destruction he caused in 2014 after he drove erratically on freshly poured concrete in Gillette's downtown while inebriated.
