Don’t Shovel Yourself Into Trouble: Always Call Before You Dig
April is National Safe Digging Month, and Black Hills Energy is reminding people to call before they dig.
Whether you're a homeowner planting a shrub or a contractor using a backhoe, you must "Call Before You Dig."
"Please call the 811, the One Call of Wyoming, it's a toll-free number and you can have your utilities located at no charge," said Black Hills spokesman Norm Long. "It's just for the safety of our customers, the general public and our employees."
Anyone who doesn't call before they dig can face substantial penalties if they strike an underground utility line.
