A Natrona County man will avoid jail time after admitting he embezzled money from where he was working at.

Donald Haney was given a six-to-eight year suspended prison sentence with five years of probation, after he pleaded guilty to one charge of obtaining goods by false pretenses.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office says in 2012, the owner of Rummel's Oil Field Services had opened another branch out of state, and left Haney in charge while he was away.

When he returned in 2013, he noticed some inconsistencies with book-keeping and records.

Some employees said Haney was buying parts for customer's personal vehicles with company accounts, and then would accept cash for the work and parts and then pocket the money.

Other accusations against Haney included selling a company truck on Craigslist.

Haney has also been ordered to pay more than $10,000 in restitution, and he must do so, within the next 5 months.
