The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will return to the skies above F.E. Warren Air Force Base on July 24, marking their 64th performance at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

"We are working out all the plans," said CFD General Chairman Jimmy Dean Siler. "Obviously, the base has always been a good host for all this."

Because of the Sweetgrass development south of Laramie County Community College -- who'd hosted the air show since 1999 -- officials had to find a new location for this year's performance.

Paula Taylor, director of the Warren ICBM and Heritage Museum, says the base hasn't hosted the Thunderbirds since they started Fort D.A. Russell Days 25 years ago.
