There's a Mobile unit that travels the state bringing services to various corners of Wyoming. The Casper VA Mobile Vet Center was stationed at the 'Homeless Veterans Stand Down' this week. William Wagner, is a counselor working out of the Mobile unit.  "We're trying to identify veterans that are returning in the community that might be having a little bit of difficulty readjusting back to civilian life. It could be anything, they want to use the GI Bill, but they're not sure how to get started or maybe they're having some problems at home."

Wagner says vet's centers started out as peer to peer counseling services that over the years grew into a network of license counselors and social workers most of whom are former combat vets.

"and we provide individual, group, marital counseling, alcohol and drug assessment, referrals, job referrals and liaison with other VA facilities. So, there's a lot available."

He says the mobile unit also has a nurse on board and lots of information about the big VA system available for free to eligible veterans.

Wagner says in a tough economy this kind of help can make a huge difference.
