The Governor’s Brucellosis Coordination Team will meet in Worland, WY on November 12, 2014 at the Worland Community Center to discuss various brucellosis related issues.

The meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and items on the agenda include a State Veterinarian update, a report on the revised Brucellosis affected herd plan for cattle and bison, updates on funded research projects by University of Wyoming investigators, a discussion of the National Academy of Science study of Brucellosis in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, an update from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, and a review of a modeling project for GYA cattle exports.

The meeting is open to the public, and a public comment period is scheduled.

In 2004, Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal created the Wyoming Brucellosis Coordination Team to chart a course for brucellosis management in the future. The team presented the governor with 28 recommendations for actions to help manage and control the disease in elk, wild bison, and cattle.
