I was born in Rapid City, South Dakota. My parents named me for General Douglas McArthur (it was Pear Harbor Day, and McArthur is the link). I mostly grew up in Butte, Montana, but have a brief history in Pinedale and Newcastle, Wyoming. I received an undergraduate degree in Journalism from Black Hills State University in Spearfish. Straight out of college, my first professional radio job was at KBFS in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Followed by KTFI in Twin Falls, Idaho; KAAT-FM in Oakhurst/Fresno Calif., and other jobs too numerous to mention including 15 years (total) in two stints with KQSW/Rock Springs, where I was news Director and co-hosted the morning show. Why go back a second time? The owner was a friend of mine. People thought I was crazy to go there, but the people you know are what makes a community. I also worked as a TV anchor/reporter for KTWO television in Casper in 2000, and as a correspondent for the State News Service. I first came to Cheyenne to work for KMUS IN 1996. Came back here in 2008, and have been with Townsquare Media and KGAB since.
