Albany County Public Library Director Fired

LARAMIE -- The Albany County Public Library Board of Directors announced Wednesday that Library Director Ruth Troyanek’s contract has been terminated, effective April 10, 2019. No reason was given for firing Troyanek.

A press release Thursday morning said, “It is the Board of Directors position that the Albany County Public Library would like to move in another direction to serve the citizens of Albany County. The board is seeking a renewed commitment to making ACPL a focal point in the community.”

The release said the ACPL Board of Directors wishes to thank Troyanek “for her service to the community’s library system.”

Troyanek has served as library director since June 2017.

Assistant Library Director, Rachel Crocker, has been appointed as interim library director. Crocker has been the assistant director since April 2018.

The ACPL Board of Directors expects to hire a candidate for the library director position by the start of the library’s fiscal year in July.
