3 Killed, 1 Injured in Eastern Wyoming Crash
Three women are dead following a head-on collision Sunday between Mule Creek Junction and the South Dakota state line.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Kyle McKay says 22-year-old Cheyanne Cummings was headed east on U.S. Highway 18 around 4:25 p.m. when she tried to pass a vehicle and collided with an oncoming car.
Cummings and her passenger, 18-year-old Lilly Johnson, died in the crash. Both girls were from Rapid City, South Dakota.
The driver of the car Cummings collided with, Lee Swindler of Harris, Texas, was life-flighted to a Rapid City hospital, but McKay didn't know the extent of his injuries.
Swindler's wife, 52-year-old Karen Swindler, also died in the crash.
The Patrol says driver inattention may have contributed to the crash.
