A Natrona County man is admitting to taking money for construction work that he didn't do.

Forty-five year old Troy Franklin has pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.

Investigators with the Natrona County Sheriff's Office say about one year ago, Franklin had entered into contract agreements, with two people to build a couple of small buildings and took some of the money up front.

The victims got suspicious when work was going slower than expected, and they later discovered that Franklin was not a licensed contractor, and that he lied at the time the deal was drawn up.

When interviewed by detectives, he later admitted to spending the money for personal use.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek probation time for Franklin, and seek an order for him to pay restitution.

He is being held on $7,500 bond, and will be sentenced at a later date.
