Casper Considers Convention Center Proposals

Proposals for a new convention center for Casper are being considered this week. Casper City Council got four respondents to a request for proposal that went out in April. Of those, Mayor Paul Bertoglio says they're interested in two. Both respondents, he says, have local ties and strong hospitality backgrounds. Bertoglio says at this point there are a lot of questions to be answered from both sides, but he indicates they hope to keep the process accelerated, because they're serious about capturing lost business.

Despite Traffic Woes Health Center Site Plan Approved

The site plan for a new building for the Community Health Center of Central Wyoming was approved Tuesday evening, but not until City Council got an ear full on traffic woes in the area.

Natural Grocers Comes To Casper

14,000 square feet of Natural Grocer opens in Casper next month; Organic produce, foods with no artificial ingredients, grass fed beef, and lots of other stuff for the health conscious.

Nancy Flynn for Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage out of Denver says their market research indicated Casper was under-served and ready.

Proposals Sought For Midsized Conference Center

A midsized conference center for the city of Casper has captured the imagination of city council. A facility larger than the Parkway Plaza, but smaller than the Events Center is what they have in mind as they call for letters of proposal from anyone interested participating in its development.

"We have facilities here, and great people and great sales people, but we're missing that one-stop-shop."

Countdown to End of Very Rare or Uncommon [AUDIO]

Supporters of a bill ending the ability of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Council to designate areas in the state as 'very rare or uncommon', say enough of the state has already been set aside for protection. The bill looks likely to pass.
