The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for central Sweetwater County until 6 p.m. today.

Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing heavy rain across the warned area.

Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Locations that will experience flooding include Superior, around Sweetwater County Airport and Point of Rocks.

Additional amounts up to an inch are possible in the warned area. The most intense rainfall has occurred around Tenmile Draw near Point of Rocks.

This also includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 115 and 139.

If you are in this area, move to higher ground now. Report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.

Meanwhile, a flash flood watch remains in effect for most of southern and central Wyoming.
