There's a new way to tell time in downtown Casper, but there's more to it then that.

Thursday August 16th was the official dedication of the new sundial located near the intersection of Collins and Beech streets.

Matthew Dehaemers out of Kansas City, Kansas is the public artist involved with the project.

He says he's been inspired with the history of central Wyoming, such as the migration trails, and the development of the oil and gas industry.

So he thought, why not build something, that not only tells the current time of day, but also tells a timeline of central Wyoming's geological past.
