CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A federal appeals court has denied an appeal from a Wyoming county that lost a voting rights challenge. A 2010 ruling overturned Fremont County's system of at-large voting for county commissioners after American Indians sued, claiming it diluted the Indian vote.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming's junior U.S. senator has told state Senate lawmakers they know how to govern much better than their counterparts in Congress. Republican Sen. John Barrasso told his former colleagues yesterday that Wyoming has been rated consistently among the best-run states. He says the state benefits from low taxes and reasonable regulations.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — A preliminary report on a Teton County Search and Rescue helicopter crash that killed a volunteer rescuer is expected later this week. National Transportation Safety Board investigator Mike Huhn tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide he has interviewed both Fire/EMS Chief Mike Moyer and pilot Ken Johnson, who were injured in the crash, as he compiles his report.

RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — Fremont County Search and Rescue has found a man unharmed after his GPS led him astray and his car became lodged in a snow drift. The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says the man was driving from Casper to the Riverton area early Monday morning when he turned on a road that isn't plowed during the winter. Rescuers found him after he walked about eight miles in blowing and drifting snow to an energy company outbuilding.
