A Casper man is now admitting to pointing a gun at the wrong people after his friend got into a fight.

Thirty-four year-old Anthony Mendoza has entered guilty pleas on two counts of aggravated assault and battery.

Casper Police say in mid-August, Mendoza was at the Bryan Stock Trail Duck Ponds when he got into an argument with another man.

One witness told police Mendoza then left on a beer run.

While he was gone, one of his friends arrived, armed with a pipe and started a fight with the other man.

Afterwards, Mendoza returned and saw another man approach his friend.

It was then prosecutors say Mendoza pointed a BB gun under the assumption that his friend had been hurt by the man approaching him.

Mendoza also pointed the gun at the other man’s wife, before he was informed that he was pointing it at the wrong people.

Mendoza is being held on $10,000 bond, and could face up to 10 years in prison on each charge, at the time of his sentencing.
